Headaches we see
Most headaches are "primary" headaches, such as tension-type headaches, rather than a sign of another illness. Some are linked to the neck: tight muscles from stress or posture, stiff joints in the upper spine, or a neck injury such as whiplash. These are often called cervicogenic headaches.
How we help
We start with a history and exam to look for a neck-related cause and to rule out warning signs. If your headaches need a medical evaluation, we'll refer you. Care may include:
- Chiropractic adjustments of the neck and upper back
- Therapeutic exercise for posture and neck strength
- Soft-tissue work and other modalities
- Advice on workstation setup, sleep position and daily habits
We don't prescribe medication. If you take medication for headaches, keep following your medical doctor's advice.
