Intersegmental traction

A roller table that gently moves the joints of the spine, used as part of your visit.

A patient lying on an intersegmental traction (roller) table

Intersegmental traction moves the joints of the spine to help with mobility and stretching. You lie face up on a padded table while the doctor helps you get positioned. Rollers under the surface move slowly along your lower back, mid back and neck, gently extending each region.

Many people say it feels like a massage. We'll ask whether the setting is comfortable and adjust the intensity for your condition and comfort.

Traction is used together with chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic exercise, not on its own.
